Daily Cricket News Roundup: South Africa claim top Test rankings, West Indies beat Bangladesh, and more
It's the time of the year when cricket is running several screenings across the globe, akin to a cinema multiplex.
Just like the various genres of films there are on offer, the fraternity was blessed with tours and tournaments reaching their climax.
On that note, we run through the latest news from the cricket world.
South Africa prove why they are the WTC holders
A Simon Harmer 10-fer and a pair of sensational Day Four centuries from Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder completed a come-from-behind series win for South Africa versus Australia.
Having set a monumental 288 for the Aussies to chase on day five, they secured a 176-run run, becoming the top-ranked Test side in the world and bolstering their chances of another World Test Championship (WTC) final.
It followed from the commanding innings defeat they handed Australia in Gqeberha in the second Test match. All in all, it was a highly captivating tour with all three results possible on the final day.
Australia skipper Pat Cummins, whose side dramatically collapsed like a pack of cards once again, echoed the team's concerns with the willow post-match.
"A few poor decisions. I know it was a day-five wicket but I don't think it was drastic, there were runs to be scored out there, there was lots of balls to face. So, again, I think a few decisions that the boys would have liked back. We've got to get better, it's happened a few times, but as I said I think when we turned up we thought that chase was very achievable," he exclaimed.
While they welcome neighbours New Zealand for a home Test tour, the Proteas will await Bangladesh for a two-match red-ball tussle later in November.

Pakistan clinch Tri-Series trophy with win against Sri Lanka
Pakistan took home the ODI Tri-Series trophy with a three-wicket win over Sri Lanka, courtesy of a Fakhar Zaman hundred (127 off 99) and a late blitzkrieg from Arafat Minhas.
The latter was named Player of the Series for his vital contributions with the bat and nine wickets from five games.
Pakistan finished with three wins from four in the group stage, and expertly chased down 325 in Lahore after Kamindu Mendis (131 off 128) and the ever-consistent Pavan Rathnayake (77 off 65) had lifted Sri Lanka to a mammoth total.
All that, despite being dragged to 14-2 inside the opening four overs. The arrival of dew in the latter half of the evening boosted their chances, but it still had to be done under pressure with 106 required even after Fakhar's dismissal.
Jomel Warrican stars as West Indies trump Bangladesh
5-33 in the first innings, topped up with 4-63 in the next from Jomel Warrican ensured West Indies romped to an eight-wicket win against Bangladesh in the first Test match at Mirpur.
Roston Chase registered his fifth five-wicket haul in Tests, turning the match on its head despite Bangladesh entering their second innings with a lead of 27 runs.
With 170 to chase on Day Four, Brandon King (81 off 115) and John Campbell's (49 off 55) quick-fire 112-run partnership but the game beyond doubt.
The two sides will meet again in the second and final red-ball match on 5th November in Sylhet.
As far as the squad news is concerned, Bangladesh have replaced Mominul Haque, who sustained a head injury in the first innings while fielding at short leg, with Amite Hasan.
