New Realme 17 Pro spec leak helps clarify its place in the upcoming lineup

Some key specs for an upcoming Realme 17 Pro-series phone leaked last month, but its identity wasn't clear - it could have been either the Pro or the Pro+. Today, a new report citing industry sources specifically details the Realme 17 Pro, and the differences suggest the earlier leak may have described its higher-end sibling.

The 17 Pro will allegedly come with a 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Dimensity 7300 chipset, a 50MP main camera, and an 8MP ultrawide. The selfie camera will support 4K video recording at 30fps, although its resolution is unclear - it could be either 32MP or 50MP.

The handset is also said to have a 10,000 mAh battery, an in-display fingerprint scanner, IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, and ColorOS 17 based on Android 17.

The earlier leak mentioned the Dimensity 7500, a 200MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom, and an ultrawide. It also listed a flat 1.5K OLED screen running at 120Hz normally and up to 165Hz in some games, a plastic frame, a camera module resembling the 16 Pro+'s, and the same 10,000 mAh battery.

The tipster behind that leak subsequently suggested the phone could be the Pro+ or Pro Max. With today's report assigning the more modest specs to the plain Pro, that definitely seems plausible.
